Below are a series of tabs that provide different types of guidance on how to change and look after your group post or pages. There are How-To guides and may discuss topics and approaches that include personal preferences and opinions so treat them as a source of ideas.
For those of you that have already updated their group post or pages and want a reminder the first two tabs will give you mind joggers.
The Tips tab provide some Do's and Don'ts and it is a good idea to check this from time to time as it will be updated.
The Video Guides tab provides links to How-To guides on YouTube. This is aimed at new authors or infrequent authors.
The Group Authors Guide is a useful u3a flipbook that provide How-To guides and may give you ideas on how to structure you group post or pages to make it interesting to new members.
Tips
- Do not use 'Duplicate this' for u3a_Groups pages. The duplication creates a new id for the group so any links or bookmarks to the existing group page will be broken.
- The best media types to upload are webP files. JPG, JPEG, and PDF files are also acceptable. PNG files should be avoided as they are often very large. Other file types can be uploaded but may not display correctly. DOC, DOCX or ODT files will appear as downloads that the user will need to open separately on their computer/tablet/phone.
- Do not upload videos to the library. To link to a video load it to You Tube and link to that version.
- If you are using two tabs whilst editing, one to edit the other to view, please remember to refresh the view when assessing your changes.
- The first 40 words of text on your group page will be repeated on the 'All Groups' page under the picture for your group. You may wish to consider this when editing your group page.

Group Author Guide
The Group Author Guide is a generic guide for Authors of u3a webpages and, as such, we cannot guarantee that it is fully applicable to this website. However, it does cover many of the tasks that a group author may wish to undertake on their web page.
