Beacon is a secure on-line management system designed by u3as members for use solely by u3as. It provides an interface for managing member’s information, our activity groups and our finances. it was implemented in Chepstow u3a in January 2017.
Access access to the database is limited to those who need the access such as Group Leaders and Committee Members.
Access is controlled by the Beacon System Administration Team. Details above.

The Beacon Team (contact details above) will then set up your initial User ID and password and help you to get started on Beacon. If you have any subsequent problems with using Beacon, please contact them.
Access to Beacon for Group Leaders
- You will need a login ID and password to access Beacon.
- Contact the Group Support Team (see Button below) to arrange access to your Group(s).
- Contact the Treasurer (see Button below) if you need to have access to the Finance database. Not all Groups do.
You can access Beacon from the Beacon Login Screen Link below BUT you don’t have to go through the website to access Beacon
- Beacon is not part of the website. It just provides a link from the website for your convenience.
- You can go directly to the Beacon login screen by typing: https://www.u3abeacon.org.uk/password.php into a new Tab (or Bookmark or Favourites) in your browser.
- Keep this in a Tab so it is available in your Browser every time you switch on your PC or Laptop. You may have to go into your Browser Settings to enable this facility.
- You could consider saving the User ID and Password in your Google Password manager to save having to type them in every time.
