| When: | Fortnightly on Friday all day 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from March to October |
Our rides are usually between 20 and 25 miles on cycle paths and quiet country lanes avoiding steep hills if possible. We ride at a steady pace with stops for coffee and lunch at suitable locations. Sometimes we stop at a café or pub but sometimes we take a flask and sandwiches.
New members are always welcome, so why not come along and have a day out with us in the countryside on one of our many routes and decide whether it's a one off or something more. So if you are interested in joining our friendly, sociable group; while trying to improve your health and fitness, contact the group leader.
We ride on the first and third Fridays of the month from March to October. Rides are weather dependent and are led by one of our members.
For safety reasons we need to impose a maximum of fifteen on each ride, so please book in with the Ride Leader via our WhatsApp Group – do not turn up on the day without having done so. If the number exceeds 15, then its up to the Lead Riders discretion.
Requests to join the ride are on a first come basis. Please do not register your interest in the ride until the Ride Leader has published the ride on WhatsApp. This gives everyone a chance to participate.
WhatsApp Group
As we use WhatsApp as our main communication tool, we ask all new members to join our WhatsApp group by giving us permission by email. Please supply your name and mobile number. To ensure your are removed from WhatsApp, if you no longer want to receive messages, please advise us accordingly.
Helmets
u3a strongly recommends wearing a cycling helmet, which has prevented serious head injury to members in the past – Please wear one. Not wearing a cycling helmet is a personal choice.
Want a Harder Ride?
