Chepstow Banking Hub

Lloyds Bank Chepstow will close on Wednesday October 7th

But the Chepstow Hub is now open!

What are Banking Hubs?

  • They are shared banking spaces with a counter service on the High Street.
  • They are run by a company called Cash Access UK, a not for profit company funded by the banks.
  • Individual Hubs are run by the Post Office but they are not a Post Office.
  • They are open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm

The Chepstow Banking Hub

  • Is at 3, Conrad House, formerly Henry’s Bar. This is the building behind Coffee#1 walking (the wrong way) down the one way street towards the A48.
  • It will be run by the Chepstow Post Office manager who will run both the Hub and the Town Post Office.

Committee members went to presentations at Lloyds Bank on 21st July and at the Palmer Centre the following day and the 'Open Day' on September 18th.

What We Know So Far

  • You will be able to
    • Withdraw cash and small amounts of £1 coins
    • Deposit cash and cheques
    • Make balance enquiries
    • Pay utility bills
  • It will be available for personal and business customers
    • But check with your bank to see which business services will be available.
  • Chepstow u3a can make deposits on any day - our Groups should be able to continue to use the paying in slips as they do at the moment. However, this needs to be tried out for confirmation.
  • You can talk to a community banker from your own bank on the day allocated to your bank. Private space will be available.
    • Lloyds may be Monday. Other banks will be available on other days: which banks and which days will be confirmed on the Banking Hub link at the top of this page.
  • Free WiFi may be available
  • There is an external ATM .
  • It is fully accessible
  • Although it will be run by the Post Office it is not a Post Office so you will not be able to send parcels and buy stamps.

There are still questions to be answered and some of the above details may be clarified in the coming weeks.
