Dymock Daffodil Ride. The ride started at Hartpury Church and Bee Shelter [a unique listed building] and we rode along some quiet Gloucestershire lanes to Hartpury, the magnificent Ashleworth Tithe Barn and a coffee stop by the Severn at Ashleworth Quay. We continued to St Mary’s Church in Upleaden, with its distinctive Tudor timbered tower. Continuing on through the orchards we reached Dymock Wood where swathes of daffodils were in full flower. We enjoyed lunch in the sunshine, at the Beauchamps Arms Dymock [the original and first Community pub in the country]. We resumed our journey, visiting St Marys Church in Kempley to view the Norman frescoes before returning to Newent and completing a figure of eight ride back to Hartpury via Upleadon and Ashleworth. Thanks to Tim for a wonderful ride, seeing the daffodils at their very best. 

Peregrine Path and the Forest of Dean. On a perfect Spring day our first ride of the programme set off from Redbrook along the old railway line to Monmouth, then onto the Peregrine Path cycle track to just after Biblins Bridge. A steep climb took us up to the campsite where we had our coffee stop. On through Christchurch and Ninewells to Bixslade and down to Cannop Ponds and Parkend. Good lunch at the Fountain. Our return took us up the cycle track to Milkwall, onto the road to Clearwell and Newland, then down the “Forgotten Valley” and back to Redbrook. Thanks to Dave A for giving us a great start to our 2022 rides.
