Meet outside the cafe at Lydney Harbour at 10:00am. For car sharing, meet at the Leisure Centre at 9:20 to leave at 9.30 am.
There is some car parking within the site otherwise there is car parking on the road at the entrance to the harbour site. We will follow a circular signposted footpath that begins at some steps near the cafe and continues along a small woodland above the river/estuary cliffs then across farmland to join a road passing Naas House and Naas Court to end back at the Harbour.
The walk should take about an hour, which will leave time to investigate wildlife at the harbour and any birds on the sandbanks in the estuary (depending on the tide). During a recce there were oystercatchers, swallows, house martins and goldfinches and the woodland itself was full of bluebells but they may well be over by the time of our walk.
For lunch there is the cafe at Taurus Craft although the Harbour cafe is good for coffee/tea and cake.
