Ian Williams will will provide an entertaining insight into the competitive nature of scientific discovery and recognition.
Hooke is only recently being credited for his breadth of work and discovery. He discovered human cell structure, with the microscope he developed.
He was the first suggest that Jupiter rotates on its axis. His detailed sketches of Mars were used in the 19th century to determine that planet‘s rate of rotation and his studies of microscopic fossils led him to become one of the first proponents of a theory of evolution.
